As a TISSUE SURGICAL RECOVERY COORDINATOR you will become part of a team of highly skilled, motivated and energetic clinical professionals who are responsible for recovering tissues for transplantation from deceased donors. At the end of each day you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you contributed to life saving and life enhancing initiatives. The Position New England Organ Bank is looking for a team-oriented individual to become part of the recovery team and to professionally represent NEOB in the hospital settings. This individual responds to tissue recovery cases during scheduled “on-call” periods, providing all aspects of tissue recovery (ie, skin, corneas, heart valves, veins and bones)From the deceased donor. The TSRC may be required to assemble required supplies and equipment for clinical recoveries, and perform other clinical support related responsibilities during times when “on-call” without the possibility of pending events. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility for its varying hours. Ideal candidates would have clinical experience (Operating Room or Emergency Room preferred) such as Surgical Tech’s, EMT’s/Paramedics, Hospital Corpsmen/Combat Medics. Qualifications • Successful completion of a 1 year allied health care technical or professional program with current certification + 2-3 years experience in a hospital (Operating Room or Emergency Room preferred), or a degree in an allied health or science field, or experience in Tissue Banking. • Must be able to communicate effectively with the NEOB recovery team and hospital staff, and professionally represent NEOB while working in a hospital setting • Excellent organization and multi tasking skills are a must • Must have Valid drivers license • Physically able to move heavy objects/equipment and stand for long periods of time • Ability to work long hours, weekends and serve on a call schedule with some mandatory over-time • Must live within 45 miles of Portland, ME.
